Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data in connection with our activities and services, including our website at www.mueller-media.ch. In particular, it explains what personal data we process, for what purposes, how and where we process it, and informs you of the rights of individuals whose personal data we process.
Additional privacy policies and other legal documents, such as General Terms and Conditions (GTC), Terms of Use, or Conditions of Participation, may apply to specific or additional activities and services.
1. Contact Information
Controller responsible for the processing of personal data:
Müller Media
Hochwachtstrasse 6
6312 Steinhausen
Switzerland
Where another controller is responsible for the processing of personal data in individual cases, we will expressly indicate this.
2. Definitions and Legal Basis
2.1 Definitions
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. A data subject is any individual whose personal data is processed.
Processing means any operation performed on personal data, regardless of the means or procedures used. This includes, in particular, the collection, recording, storage, disclosure, retrieval, use, modification, transfer, deletion, destruction, or any other handling of personal data.
2.2 Legal Basis
We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection legislation, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the Ordinance to the Federal Act on Data Protection (OFADP).
3. Nature, Scope and Purpose of Processing
We process the personal data necessary to carry out our activities and services in a sustainable, user-friendly, secure and reliable manner. Such personal data may include, in particular, master and contact data, browser and device data, content data, metadata and usage data, location data, sales data, as well as contract and payment data.
We process personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the respective purpose or as required by law. Personal data that is no longer required will either be anonymised or securely deleted.
We may engage third parties to process personal data on our behalf. We may also process personal data jointly with third parties or disclose personal data to third parties. Such third parties include, in particular, specialised service providers whose services we use. We ensure that these third parties also comply with applicable data protection requirements.
As a general rule, we process personal data only with the consent of the data subject unless processing is otherwise permitted by law. Processing without consent may, for example, be permitted where it is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject, for pre-contractual measures, to safeguard our overriding legitimate interests, where the processing is evident from the circumstances, or following prior notification.
Within this framework, we process, in particular, information voluntarily provided to us by a data subject when contacting us, for example by post, email, instant messaging, contact form, social media or telephone, or when registering for a user account. We may store such information in an address book, a customer relationship management (CRM) system, or similar tools. If we receive personal data relating to other individuals, the person providing such data is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws and for guaranteeing the accuracy of the personal data provided.
We may also process personal data obtained from third parties, collected from publicly available sources, or gathered in the course of our activities and services, provided that such processing is legally permissible.
4. International Transfer of Personal Data
As a general rule, we process personal data in Switzerland. However, personal data may also be disclosed or transferred to other countries for processing or to be processed there.
We may transfer personal data to any country or territory worldwide where, in the opinion of the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or pursuant to a decision of the Swiss Federal Council, an adequate level of data protection is ensured.
We may also transfer personal data to countries that do not provide an adequate level of data protection where appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), or other suitable guarantees. In exceptional cases, personal data may be transferred to countries without an adequate or appropriate level of data protection where the specific legal requirements under applicable data protection law are met, for example where the data subject has given explicit consent or where the transfer is directly connected with the conclusion or performance of a contract. Upon request, we will gladly provide data subjects with information regarding any applicable safeguards or supply a copy of such safeguards.
5. Rights of Data Subjects
Data subjects whose personal data we process have the rights granted under Swiss data protection law. These include, in particular, the right to obtain information about their personal data, as well as the right to request the rectification, deletion or restriction of the processing of their personal data.
Data subjects also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland, the competent supervisory authority for data protection is the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of data security appropriate to the respective risk. However, absolute data security cannot be guaranteed.
Access to our website is protected by transport encryption (SSL/TLS), in particular through the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). Most web browsers indicate encrypted connections by displaying a padlock symbol in the address bar.
Like any digital communication, our electronic communications may be subject to surveillance without cause or suspicion, as well as other monitoring by security authorities in Switzerland, elsewhere in Europe, the United States of America (USA), and other countries. We have no direct influence over the processing of personal data by intelligence services, law enforcement agencies, or other security authorities.
7. Use of the Website
7.1 Cookies
We may use cookies. Cookies include both our own cookies (“first-party cookies”) and cookies from third-party services that we use (“third-party cookies”). Cookies are data stored in your browser and are not limited to traditional text-based cookies.
Cookies may be stored temporarily as session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed, or as persistent cookies, which remain stored for a specified period. Cookies enable us, in particular, to recognise your browser on future visits and, for example, measure the reach and performance of our website. Persistent cookies may also be used for online marketing purposes.

Please note that disabling cookies may affect the availability or functionality of certain features of our website. Where required by law, we obtain your explicit consent before using cookies.
For cookies used for analytics, performance measurement or advertising purposes, many service providers offer general opt-out options, including through AdChoices (Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada), the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), YourAdChoices (Digital Advertising Alliance), and Your Online Choices (European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance – EDAA).

We store such information, which may also constitute personal data, in server log files. This information is necessary to ensure the secure, reliable and uninterrupted operation of our website and to safeguard data security, including the protection of personal data, whether by ourselves or with the assistance of third parties.
7.3 Tracking Pixels
We may use tracking pixels (also known as web beacons) on our website. These are small, generally invisible images that are automatically retrieved when our website is visited. Tracking pixels, including those provided by third-party services, may collect the same information as server log files.
8. Social Media
We maintain profiles on social media platforms and other online platforms in order to communicate with interested individuals and to provide information about our activities and services. In connection with such platforms, personal data may also be processed outside Switzerland.
The General Terms and Conditions (GTC), Terms of Use, Privacy Policies and other provisions of the respective platform operators also apply. These documents provide information about the rights of data subjects in relation to the respective platform, including the right of access to personal data.
9. Third-Party Services
We use services provided by specialised third parties to ensure that our activities and services can be carried out in a secure, reliable and user-friendly manner. Among other things, these services enable us to integrate functions and content into our website. Where such integrations are used, the respective providers may, for technical reasons, temporarily collect users’ Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
For essential security, statistical and technical purposes, third parties whose services we use may process data related to our activities and services in aggregated, anonymised or pseudonymised form. This may include, for example, performance and usage data required to provide their services.
We use, in particular:
- Google services – Provided by Google LLC (USA) and Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. Further information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and security documentation.
- Microsoft services – Provided by Microsoft Corporation (USA) and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Ireland) for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Further information is available in Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Trust Center.
9.1 Digital Infrastructure
We use specialised third-party services to provide the digital infrastructure required for our activities and services. These include hosting and storage services offered by selected providers.

9.2 Communication Services
We use selected service providers to communicate efficiently with third parties, including prospective and existing customers.
9.3 Audio and Video Conferences
We use specialised services for audio and video conferencing to communicate online. These services allow us, for example, to conduct virtual meetings, online training sessions and webinars. Participation in such conferences is also subject to the privacy policies and terms of use of the respective service providers.
Depending on your individual circumstances, we recommend muting your microphone by default and using a blurred or virtual background when participating in audio or video conferences.
We use, in particular:
- Microsoft Teams – Audio and video conferencing service provided by Microsoft Corporation (USA) and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Ireland) for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland. For more information, please refer to the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
10. Website Extensions
We use extensions (plugins) for our website to provide additional functionality.
In particular, we use:
- jQuery (OpenJS Foundation): Open-source JavaScript library provided by the OpenJS Foundation (USA), delivered in part through the StackPath CDN.
11. Analytics and Performance Measurement
We use services and software to analyse how our online offering is used. This enables us, for example, to measure the effectiveness and reach of our activities and services, evaluate the impact of third-party links to our website, and compare different versions of our website or individual components (A/B testing).
Based on the results of these analyses, we can identify and correct errors, improve popular content and further optimise our online offering.
When using analytics and performance measurement services, users’ Internet Protocol (IP) addresses may need to be stored. Wherever possible, IP addresses are shortened (“IP masking”) to comply with the principle of data minimisation and to enhance user privacy through pseudonymisation.
Cookies may also be used, and user profiles may be created. Such profiles may include information about pages visited, content viewed, screen size, browser type, and the approximate geographical location of the user. User profiles are generally created only in pseudonymised form and are not used to identify individual users. If users are logged into third-party services, those providers may be able to associate the use of our website with the respective user account.
In particular, we use:
- Google Analytics – Web analytics service provided by Google. Google Analytics may collect data across multiple browsers and devices (cross-device tracking). IP addresses are pseudonymised and transmitted to Google in the United States only in exceptional cases.
12. Final Provisions
This Privacy Policy was created using the Privacy Policy Generator provided by Datenschutzpartner.
We reserve the right to amend or update this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated in an appropriate manner, in particular by publishing the current version on our website.
